It’s officially fall! I love summer but I’m ready for a change of seasons. Fall lasts so short in Chicago, so I’m committed to making them most of the crisp, cozy weather by making a fall bucket list.
Last autumn, we went to New York and didn’t get to experience that ~fall feeling~. Now we’re devoted to making the most out of the crisp weather.
Can you believe I have yet to go apple picking (as in ever?!) Steve and I were on our way to an apple orchard last September when we hit with terrible weather and actual snow! So we ended up at the mall instead (lol). We’re thinking of hitting up Edwards Apple Orchard. They have the best apple donuts. Yum!
Steve and I have never gone to a pumpkin path together. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve gone as adult. Now that we have a large patio deck, we want to decorate the porch with some pumpkins! I have no idea where to go but if you have any recommendations, send them over!
Chicago Bears Game
Last year, I went to my first ever NFL football game. Like Manuelo from So Little Time once said, “I don’t hate it!”. Sure, it was freezing but the stadium was electric! It was also cool seeing all the TV and media folks in action.
Fall foliage in the Midwest is beautiful! Last year, we briefly got to experience some colorful trees. I’m considering Starved Rock for a “fall foliage” hike. I’ve been there a few times in the summer and the trails are manageable.
Tour local breweries
Chicago has over 100 breweries! Autumn is the perfect time to try some new beer flights. We’re thinking of visiting Revolution, 5 Rabbit Cervecería, Lo-Rez Brewing, and Lagunitas!
Visit local coffee shops
There are so many cute coffee shops in the city and have yet to indulge in most of them. I’ll probably do what I usually do and begin my research through Yelp. I’ll report back on the cool coffee shops I encounter!
See fall foliage in the city
My fall bucket list wouldn’t be complete without adding fall foliage in Chicago. Chicago is beautiful in autumn! I plan on taking strolls through Millennium Park, Lincoln Park, and other areas to take in the fall foliage. Also, I hope to *finally* visit Cindy’s Rooftop during the autumn and get gorgeous view of Millennium Park filled with fall foliage.
